Japanese pickup truck turned into the world’s smallest mobile home (9 photos + 1 video)
Blogger Levi Kelly built a tiny mobile home based on a 1998 Honda Acty pickup truck, which made it into the Guinness Book of Records. With an area of only 1.95 square meters, it has a bed, a mini-kitchen, a toilet and even a shower.
The camper is built on a wooden frame with foam insulation and weighs less than 362 kg - this is the maximum load capacity of the car. An adjustable solar panel is installed on the roof for autonomous power supply. Kelly assures that his creation is suitable for comfortable living for several days.
Inside, there's a fold-down bed for a person up to 178cm tall, a kitchenette with a sink and faucet connected to a water bottle, an alcohol burner for heating and cooking, a shower connected to a kitchen faucet, and a camper-style toilet.
The countertop lifts up to access the sleeping area, and all the furniture serves multiple purposes. While tall people might feel cramped, Kelly says she feels quite comfortable inside. A fan keeps the air circulating, and a round window above the toilet adds natural light and a bit of space.
