The Story of “Telepathic” Twin Sisters from Australia (14 photos + 1 video)
They say great minds think alike. And when you look at the Powers sisters from Queensland, Australia, you'll find that to be true. From their perfectly coordinated outfits to their uncanny ability to speak in unison, 51-year-olds Paula and Bridgett are inseparable.
Last month, the sisters revealed how they witnessed a carjacking and shooting. Viewers were amazed by how well they spoke in sync.
The following day, they appeared on Good Morning Britain. The women spoke in their own unique way, sharing their love for birds and their unusual lifestyle. The twins, who once worked for legendary crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, have dedicated their lives to protecting animals. They plan to monetize their unexpected popularity and raise $30,000 to help our smaller brothers.

Childhood and youth

The sisters were born in 1974. Helen's mother tried to separate the children, but they cried until they were reunited again.
Once they found themselves apart: Paula was hospitalized with appendicitis. Bridget visited her every day, but was forbidden to stay in the ward overnight. Three weeks later, she also had to have her appendix removed.

Helen Powers admits that she was frightened by such affection between her daughters.
"At first I thought they were two different people. But over time, it began to seem like they were one."
Helen tried placing her daughters in separate rooms, but in the morning she found them sleeping together on the floor.
To this day, they sleep in the same bedroom and in the same pajamas.
Their therapist knows that if one gets sick, the other will too, so she always writes two prescriptions.

At school, teachers noticed that the sisters were giving the same answers, and this aroused their suspicions.
"We would rather die than cheat," said the Powers. "They sat us down and gave us different assignments, but we both answered the same. They were shocked."
Relationships

When asked about their love life, Bridget and Paul said: "We don't have partners, but we have each other."
They previously told A Current Affair that they don't have time to date - even George Clooney, who is "too old."
"We give all our love to the wild," they said.

Helen tried to arrange her daughters' personal lives, but they refused to meet the musician twins from Canada.
It turned out that the sisters would never be able to get married because they couldn't stand sleeping in different rooms.

Career

The twins have always loved birds and met Steve Irwin during a rescue mission on the Sunshine Coast. The "wildlife warrior" invited them to work at his zoo.

They have been running a pelican and seabird rescue service for 25 years now, and the sisters are known all over Queensland.
“We love what we do because the birds need help. I don’t think anyone cares for them on such a large scale,” commented the Powers.

Slava

Bridgett and Paula became world famous when they told about the car theft in a report by the 7NEWS channel. Dressed in identical Easter outfits, the sisters synchronously told about what they saw. They even repeated each other's gestures.
The video quickly went viral. A few hours later, the twins appeared on the program "Good Morning Britain".
Host Susanna Reid said: "Your interview has gone viral because people can't figure out how you can speak in unison."
The sisters responded: "Yes, we know we annoy a lot of people. If they don't like listening to us, then they should turn off the TV. We've tried speaking separately before and it's hard for us."
The Australians also appeared on the show in 2016, and host Piers Morgan called their conversation "one of the best interviews ever."

After a recent TV appearance, GoFundMe approached the Powers to start a fundraiser to support their long-standing work saving pelicans and seabirds. The sisters agreed.
