The park is especially impressive during the flowering period (April-May), when rhododendrons and azaleas turn the territory into a bright colorful carpet.

The park was created at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to the enthusiasm of a local resident, Francesco Canepa, who began collecting and growing rare plants on this piece of land. San Grato Park is considered one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the region and in the world and an important cultural site.
