Cleaners took away the garbage, but ran away from the place because of a rat
An unpleasant story happened in the British city of Birmingham, which suffers from piles of uncollected garbage: the cleaners were supposed to collect the waste, but when the garbage workers saw one large rat, they quickly ran away from there.
The footage shows that a group of cleaners drove up a car and began throwing in the garbage. However, a moment later, a rat suddenly jumped out of a huge pile of bags and waste at the garbage worker, which forced the utility worker and his colleagues to quickly leave the place.
This episode occurred against the backdrop of a multi-week strike by garbage workers in Birmingham, who have refused to do their job since the beginning of March. The main reason for the protests is the complete reduction of the position of waste recycling controllers, as well as the cancellation of compensation payments for certain groups of workers in this industry.
Since March 11, Birmingham garbage workers have announced a long-term strike and said that they will not go to work until their demands are met. The garbage workers' union reported that more than 75% of its members actively oppose such innovations by the city authorities and the government.
Subsequently, the city streets turned into a huge garbage dump. Birmingham residents report that since the beginning of March, piles of waste have been visible on the streets, which municipal and private workers, who are still working, simply do not have time to clean up.
An additional problem has become rats, which have begun to actively move and settle among the garbage piles. Locals report that often throwing waste into such piles of bags, they have seen rats "the size of plump cats."
