A Girl's Eye Color Changed After a Lightning Strike (4 photos)
Thunder rumbles, lightning flashes in the night, and on the hill stands a beauty and... Okay, everyone knows the rest of the lyrics anyway. So, a story worthy of a song in the spirit of "KiSh" happened in Australia.
So, one overly curious resident of Australia decided to take pictures of the approaching storm on the street. But the girl failed to capture the power of the elements, she was struck by lightning. The neighbors, who were watching the home-grown hunter for epic shots, took pity on the girl and called an ambulance.
By the time she was hospitalized, the victim's limbs had turned blue and her breathing had become labored. Doctors diagnosed the girl with keraunoparesis, a rare temporary paralysis following an electric shock. She was unable to move for nine hours and her speech remained slurred.
She had to spend almost two weeks in the hospital until her condition stabilized. But the consequences of the encounter with lightning did not pass without a trace. The girl's eyes changed color, before they were green, and after the experience they became dark brown.
According to scientists, on average 6,000 people die from lightning strikes every year in the world. And if you consider that in 90% of cases people survive, then you can safely say: humanity is very attractive to lightning.
