The strike on the Engels airfield was carried out by drones of the SBU and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
On the night of March 20, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Engels airfield in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation. As reported by Censor.NET, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A fire, explosions and secondary detonation of ammunition were recorded in the area of the airfield.
It is noted that this military facility is used by the occupiers' aviation, in particular, to launch missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and terrorist attacks against civilians. Censor.NET sources reported that Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3 and Tu-160 bombers are deployed at the airfield, as well as warehouses with FAB, KAB and cruise missiles.
It is from here that the planes that launch missile strikes on Ukraine take off. After the drone attack, the SBU and SSO recorded a fire, explosions and secondary detonation of ammunition in the area of the airfield. It is noted that Russian air defense systems hit civilian buildings and infrastructure in Engels and Saratov with missiles.
