A third axle was attached to a Suzuki Jimny mini-SUV (20 photos)
A UK resident who saw a rendering of a 6-wheeled Suzuki Jimny on the Internet decided to make this project a reality. The conversion was entrusted to a little-known English workshop Mocho Fabrication.
The basis was a 2019 Jimny imported from Japan. An open cargo compartment was welded to the rear of the car and equipped with an additional pair of wheels without a drive. The result was a miniature pickup truck with a two-door, but at the same time a two-row cabin for four. The SUV body is rolled in Audi Nardo Gray, which goes well with the black wheel arches and "toothy" tires.
The improvements also affected the interior, where the factory fabric upholstery of the seats and door panels gave way to quilted leather, and instead of the standard one, a Kenwood audio system with improved sound and Apple CarPlay support was installed.
One of the weak points of the 6-wheel "Jimny" can be considered the donor engine - a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 103 hp and 134 Nm of torque. Therefore, the future owner is immediately offered to modify the power unit by installing a Garrett turbocharger with associated equipment. Then the output will increase to 170 hp and 270 Nm.
It is also worth noting that not all three axles of the SUV are driving. The model's all-wheel drive system remains standard, meaning torque is distributed only to four wheels.
At the time of publication, people are willing to part with the car with a declared mileage of 6,882 miles for 45 thousand pounds sterling.
