An Alien from the Depths: A Fisherman Caught a Strange Creature
Roman Fedortsov discovered an unusual sea creature in the North Pacific Ocean. People compared it to an alien, and some even expressed doubt that it had terrestrial origins.
Fedortsov later identified his find as Aptocyclus ventricosus, also known as the smooth frogfish. This species of marine ray-finned fish lives at significant depths and can reach 44 cm in length. According to What’s The Jam, the unusual appearance of the fish could be caused by a change in pressure when rising to the surface, which caused its body to swell significantly.
The video of the "deep-sea monster" attracted the attention of many viewers.
"This is 100% an alien," wrote one user. Others compared the fish to characters from the Alien, X-Men, and even Voldemort from Harry Potter.
However, the reaction to the discovery was mixed: some users called for the creature to be destroyed, while others, on the contrary, admired its unique appearance. One commenter even suggested that the fish was caught in "Chernobyl".
