A man was shocked when he spotted a mysterious creature with "poisonous spines" that he thought had washed up on the beach. According to Dennis Chan, he came across an "unusual sight" buried in the sand in Singapore, and upon closer inspection realized it was a long-nosed stargazer looking into the sky.
It is believed that there are more than 50 subspecies of such fish, and some have a special organ that produces electricity.
Chan warned that these fish have a strong sting, which, however, did not stop him from examining it. In a video posted to Instagram, Chan showed the audience a close-up of the fish before it disappeared back into the sand after inhaling air. The clip received 1.2 million views and more than a million likes.
“An unusual and exciting sight: these strange fish bury themselves in the sand, leaving only their heads, and seem to look at the stars, waiting for prey,” he explained.
According to him, they resemble stone fish or scorpion fish, that is, they also have poisonous spines that can cause painful bites. And although the author of the find considers this fish interesting, other social network users called it “quite scary.”
“Now this is my sleep paralysis demon... I will never dive in the water again,” Stanley wrote.
Another user said that this is a new fish that he will now be wary of. Others did not believe that this creature was real, while others believed that looking at this fish could give you a heart attack.
