The second generation of the "Blazer", a full-size SUV from GM, was characterized by conservatism in both design and construction. Constant demand allowed the car to remain in production from 1973 to 1991 with minimal changes, which could not be said about passenger cars of the same period.





Most of the Chevrolet Blazers produced had all-wheel drive. Among them is the Mecum auctioned in March - a collector's item from the 1989 model year. Its 5.7-liter gasoline V8 engine with electronic fuel injection is aggregated with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Also noteworthy are the rear differential lock and heavy-duty suspension springs.

The three-door car with a removable hard top is assembled in the top configuration, which implies the presence of cruise control, air conditioning, power windows, a Delco AM/ FM stereo system, sliding passenger windows, factory tinting, a tow bar, etc. The interior is still covered in cellophane and has retained all the dealer stickers. The odometer shows 23 miles.

This SUV was sold 36 years ago for $ 21,853, of which $ 6,748 was spent on equipping with optional equipment. Adjusted for inflation, this is approximately 55,000 modern dollars. However, the real value of the Chevrolet Blazer put up for auction is much higher. Why? In 2023, the car changed hands without much hassle for $ 125,000. Apparently, now they figured they could make even more money.
