New Chinese sports car from Xiaomi was photographed without camouflage (7 photos)
A test prototype of an electric sports car, which was developed with the active support of Xiaomi and will go on sale under the JMEV brand, has been brought out on public roads. Photos of the future new product are published by CarNewsChina. The publication claims that in a number of characteristics, the JMEV 01 is comparable to the Porsche 911 and will receive three types of drive at once. The start date of sales has not yet been specified.
As far as can be judged from the photo, the test prototype of the JMEV 01 looks the same as the car in the certification photos published in mid-January. In addition to a similar body silhouette, plumage and lighting, the electric car has exactly the same 18-inch wheels and yellow brake calipers.
With a length of 4106 millimeters, the JMEV 01 weighs 1356 kilograms and is equipped with a bunch of electric motors with 435 horsepower. The exact capacity of the battery is unknown, but, according to the publication, the coupe will travel up to 520 kilometers without recharging. It is expected that the power plant will allow the electric car to move with both all-wheel drive and with front or rear. The design of the JMEV 01 provides for a balanced weight distribution like comparable mid-engine sports cars with an internal combustion engine like the Lotus Elise.
It is also claimed that during testing at the Goldenport Park Circuit in Beijing, the electric car showed a lap time of 1 minute and 6 seconds, which is identical to the result of the Porsche 911 Carrera S generation 992.
The expected starting price of the JMEV 01 in China is 300 thousand yuan.
