A Brit is shocked by the behaviour of her compatriots at a Spanish resort. At 7am, Rachel, 28, stepped out onto the balcony of her room at the Barcelo hotel in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, to see holidaymakers rushing to grab sun loungers by the pool.

When the pool opened, chaos ensued. The Brits immediately grabbed the best sun loungers. Rachel captured the children and their parents quickly throwing towels on the sun loungers. Her video quickly gained more than 200,000 views, and people in the comments were shocked.

One wrote: "No, this is my worst nightmare! I feel ashamed for these people. Life is too short, my friends! When you're on holiday, explore the area, go to the beach, experience the culture, try the local food, visit other cities and villages. What's the point of coming and lying around all day baking in the sun?"

"How awkward. Imagine waking up on holiday abroad, in a fancy place. And telling your loved one: "Sorry, I can't lie here and enjoy you, I need to find a lounger," another commented.

A third said: "I was on holiday at this hotel. There are so many sun loungers, I just can't understand these people."

Another tourist added that he had been to the resort before and it was mostly the British who occupied the sun loungers.

Among these "heroes" are those who are not shy about their thoughts. For example, 29-year-old Stephanie from Wales got up at the crack of dawn and occupied eight sun loungers for her family before heading out for breakfast and shopping. The woman was on holiday on the island of Fuerteventura in Las Palmas, Spain, with her partner and six children.

Stephanie posted a video where she talked about her strategy. She stressed that she has a large family, and therefore she needs to act decisively to ensure that everyone is comfortable during the day.

A mother of five boys and one girl addressed her followers: "First, we should take the sun loungers by the pool, because we came as a big family and should be there early."

But instead of enjoying the first rays of the Spanish sun, she took everyone to breakfast and shopping, leaving towels on the sun loungers. The family returned to the hotel only after lunch.

The video caused a strong reaction from viewers: "I can't believe you take the sun loungers and then leave"; "Why take the sun loungers if you are going to walk around all day?"; "All hotels should introduce a rule: if a sun lounger is not used for more than half an hour, the towel is removed and other guests can take it"; "Sorry, but your towels will be in the pool."
