An electric guitar that can change color
Guitar maker collaborates with e-ink display maker to create world's first chameleon electric guitar that can change colors.
At the 2025 NAMM Show, Mexico's Cream Guitars teamed up with E Ink to unveil "the world's first chameleon electric guitar" that can instantly change colors.
The Voltage DaVinci guitar's signature feature is its body, which is completely covered in E Ink color displays. There are over 10 individual screens that can change colors independently of each other. Thousands of unique patterns and color combinations can be created.
We had a vision to break all the rules of the traditional guitar. Through our innovative collaboration with E Ink, we are providing creators with a level of creativity that goes far beyond anything available on the market today.
Luis Ortiz, CEO of Cream Guitars
E Ink clarified that the guitars use an advanced technology of "ink" screens E Ink Prism 3. It is known for its low power consumption, durability and ability to customize colors. Similar displays have previously been used in concept cars and smart clothes. Color E Ink is not readily implemented in e-books, since the technology is more expensive than classic black and white screens.
