A routine walk with a metal detector led to the discovery of a mysterious chest, the origin of which remains a mystery to this day. The strange symbolism on it caused the greatest concern.

A California resident (USA) made a creepy find while accidentally searching his friend's garden with a metal detector. Expecting to find only small items like bottle caps, the man and his friend were amazed when they dug up a huge chest. A user with the nickname Downtown-Wonder1469 shared photos of the find on the popular forum Reddit.

The discovery raised a wave of questions: at first, the searchers thought it was a coffin, but its small size and lack of markings made them doubt this. When they opened the chest, they found that it was completely filled with dirt, and among it were only a few plastic flowers.

The most disturbing thing was the strange symbolism on the chest - the SS emblem used during the time of Nazi Germany.

"We are avid collectors of military weapons of the Second World War. Finding something like this under a friend's backyard was like a fever dream," the author of the post admitted.

The man shared the find on the Reddit platform, and users immediately began to build theories. Some suggested that the chest could have been used by soldiers to transport trophies, while others recalled that action films about World War II were filmed in the Mojave Desert, and perhaps the artifact is a prop.

"The coolest artifacts are the ones that evoke the most thought and imagination in the viewer, this one certainly does that for me," "During the war, soldiers would use whatever boxes they could get their hands on to ship trophies home. Maybe how did this get there, does it have an address written on the outside?", "Mojave used to be a film location for WWII action movies like Battle! Maybe it's a prop," they wrote.

Despite many guesses, it remains unclear how the chest ended up in this place, who buried it and why. For now, the find remains a mystery, attracting the attention of historians and mystery lovers.
