A cat forgotten in the cargo hold of an airplane made three flights in 24 hours (2 photos)
Maine Coon Mittens was flying with his owners from Christchurch, New Zealand, to their new home in Melbourne, Australia, on January 13. After landing, passengers waited for the cat for three hours, but it turned out that he never left the plane and flew back to Christchurch.
It turned out that the baggage handlers did not notice Mittens' cage in the cargo hold of Air New Zealand. The owners asked the company that organized the flight for the pet for help. They met the cat at the airport and sent him back to Melbourne. In total, the animal spent about 22 hours in the sky.
Finding himself in the arms of his owner, Mittens was very happy. The airline promised to conduct an investigation and reimburse all expenses related to the cat's travel.
