A stowaway from Algeria survived after flying for more than two hours in the undercarriage of an airplane (2 photos)
Workers at Paris Orly Airport discovered a young man in the landing gear of a plane arriving from Algeria. What is most interesting is that the stowaway, despite the extreme travel conditions, was alive.
The Air Algerie plane carrying the stowaway took off from the city of Oran in western Algeria. His journey to Paris was 2.5 hours.
As specified in the publication, a 20-year-old young man found in the landing gear compartment of the plane was in critical condition. The guy was found during a technical check of the aircraft.
France-Presse notes that temperatures at the 12 kilometer altitude at which commercial flights fly can be below minus 50°C, so the fact that the stowaway was alive is a miracle in itself.
With severe hypothermia, the “hare” was taken to a local clinic, France-Presse reports, citing a source from the air harbor of the French capital.
A similar incident occurred earlier, in the spring of 2021, at Amsterdam airport, writes Sputnik.
However, then a human body was found in the chassis compartment. The airliner arrived from the Nigerian city of Lagos. Local authorities suggested that an illegal migrant was trying to get into Europe in the chassis compartment.
