She removed her ribs to reduce her waist and plans to make a crown out of them (3 photos + 1 video)
She is keen to document the unique procedure in the most unusual way possible.
"I'm planning on getting someone to make a crown out of them. They let me keep my ribs and I was originally going to give them to my best friend," the 27-year-old shared.
Emily James paid $17,000 for the surgery. During her recovery, the American had to wear a corset around the clock to reduce swelling, although she admitted that her pain is only rated at a 2 on a 10-point scale - thanks to the team of doctors and nurses.
She took to social media to share details of the procedure and her recovery, which has drawn mixed reactions from viewers.
"People have told me to make them into chew toys or make broth out of them," James said. "Personally, I think my meat would be delicious."
Despite some people's suggestions, however, James said she will not eat the ribs in any form.
"Eating human flesh can cause a variety of disorders that can be fatal," she said. "So I will not participate in cannibalism, thank you."
Many people are joking and commenting on James's strange decision, but she ignores the haters.
"Having my ribs removed doesn't change the fact that I'm a kind, loving trans girl," James explains. "I know some of your moms are getting Brazilians. How is this any different? It's my money, my body, and I'm going to do what I want with it."
