Already in her teens, Amba Rose from the British Midlands was the target of attacks because of her large breasts. After painful years of struggling with self-doubt and constant pain, the girl went under the knife to have her breasts reduced to size 5.

“I suffered since I was a teenager, it was unbearable at school. My classmates called me “hamburger nipples,” they printed out pictures of hamburgers, stuck them on themselves and danced, imitating me. They also said that I only have breasts because I’m fat "Even when I went to university, people didn't look me in the eyes - they looked at my breasts. I heard gossip about me wherever I went. I also noticed that if I was just being friendly with a boy, other girls would I didn’t like it, they changed their attitude towards me,” Amba shares.

"When I put myself out there on the internet, things got worse with nasty comments pouring in. I'm so much more than my breasts."

It was not only bullying that made the girl decide to have surgery: her large breasts also caused her physical pain.

“I had to pay for a chiropractor and take time off from work many times because of back pain caused by my breasts. I wanted to reduce my bust since I was 15 and begged the doctors to do it. I even thought about going to a private clinic, but it would have cost 12,000 pounds sterling. I have been working since I was 15 and, despite savings, I need to pay rent and support myself. I have a poor family, so there is no one to expect financial help from."

“I was doing my higher education in Winchester, which is much smaller than my home town. I thought that there I would have a better chance of getting a referral for surgery. After much discussion, the committee finally said yes - I was over the moon.” .

However, the British woman had to wait another two years for her turn.

She recalls: “When I woke up after the operation, I experienced strong emotions. It was a strange feeling to carry a weight on me for so long, and then it was no longer there.”

"The doctors had to cut my milk ducts, so I won't be able to breastfeed in the future. There are different breast reduction options that allow you to preserve the milk ducts. But this is the safest option and reduces the risk of nipple necrosis, and I'm not thinking about children yet."

Amba was operated on in July and is still undergoing rehabilitation, which will take from six months to a year. However, now she feels differently.

“I don’t have back pain, I don’t have to take time off from work, I can play sports and do things I really enjoy, like jumping on the trampoline.”

"My boyfriend, friends and family have supported me the whole way because they know how desperately I wanted this. Since the surgery I've lost about 6,000 followers. Men say I'm now 'good for nothing'. I mean those words I take it as a blessing,” admitted Rose.
