A Housekeeper Takes Revenge on Her Owner Who Denied Her a Christmas Bonus (3 photos)
Heather Nelson was considered a conscientious worker and helped run the household of an 83-year-old Florida resident. However, on January 7, the 29-year-old American was detained and accused of causing bodily harm and grand theft.
On the eve of Catholic Christmas, the old woman refused to pay the helper a bonus of $500. Nelson decided to get the money in her own way.
“She took the check by force, grabbed several gift cards, as well as debit and credit cards. "The housekeeper forged several signatures and attempted to steal a large amount of money from the woman," said Sheriff's Office spokesman Todd Goodyear.
Nelson used the stolen checkbook to pay off her back rent, which was listed as $1,400.
"She seemed to be in financial trouble," Goodyear added. "Maybe she saw this as her only option, but taking advantage of the elderly is unacceptable."
The extortionist also used physical force. She grabbed the woman so hard that her wrist became swollen.
After Nelson's arrest, the Sheriff's Office issued a rather bizarre press release: "When the victim said she didn't have enough money to pay the bonus, Nelson snatched the checkbook out of her hand. Then, as if to ruin everyone else's day, she took the gift cards. Damn you Grinch, you went too far! You punched an old lady and nearly broke her wrist, but that wasn't enough. You decided to steal all her money and take the gifts that were meant for others! What was the plan... kick her dog?"
The housekeeper will appear in court in the coming weeks.
