Parents allowed a 9-year-old girl to get a tattoo in honor of Donald Trump (3 photos + 1 video)
A tattoo artist from Black Onyx Empire has faced criticism after posting a tattoo of his work, which shows him inking the stars and stripes of the US flag on a girl’s arm. According to the Arizona-based artist, who goes by the pseudonym Sosa, the 9-year-old client wanted a portrait of Donald Trump on her neck. She and her family consider him a hero. 
“I convinced her to get a more patriotic tattoo. I promised to give her a Trump portrait in a year if she didn’t change her mind,” the tattoo artist says. “The client came back a year later and said, ‘I’m 10 years old, could you touch up the red?’” She also changed her mind about the Trump portrait." 
He added: "We initially tried to scare the family away by telling them that they had to pay $500 for this job, which normally costs $80, but they agreed."
The artist was met with a barrage of criticism: "You are extremely unprofessional. Any sane artist would refuse this job"; "This is just insane. And don't tell me you were trying to refuse them by asking a high price. Bullshit. I was refused a tattoo at 16, even though my parents gave their consent"; "I was refused a tattoo on my arm at 19. And now you guys are tattooing 9-year-olds. Total crap." 
The artist explained: "Here in Arizona, it is legal to tattoo a child with parental consent and, of course, making sure it is not coerced."
"It's not every day that I tattoo nine-year-olds," Sosa said later. "The girl's family is very grateful to live in the United States, they see Donald Trump as a hero."
In Arizona, according to Ben Shaw, a representative of the Alliance of Professional Tattoo Artists, the regulation of the tattoo industry is minimal. You don't even need a license to work here.
He expressed his opinion: "Such examples negatively affect the reputation of professionals. If you see a ten-year-old child with a tattoo, and he says that he got it in a tattoo parlor, this discredits us as a whole."
