Alpine presented a new supercar with a V6 on hydrogen (5 photos)
The Renault Group's Alpine sports brand presented the Alpenglow Hy6 concept at the Paris Motor Show. This is a supercar with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that runs on hydrogen. It is going to be put into production, but the power plant may be replaced with a fully electric one on the conveyor.
The Alpenglow Hy6 is a further evolution of the Alpenglow Hy4 concept car, shown this spring. The main difference is that the two-liter four-cylinder engine has been replaced with a six-cylinder. The development of the new internal combustion engine took two years. It develops 730 hp and 770 Nm, all power is transmitted to the rear wheels. Hydrogen is stored in three cylinders, two of which are installed in the side compartments, and the third is behind the passenger capsule.
The Alpenglow Hy6 is built on a carbon LMP3 chassis. Its maximum speed exceeds 330 km/h. The Inconel exhaust system is integrated into the rear lights, and the "exhaust" is ordinary water vapor. There are no other details about the concept yet.
