Daily Mail: "In some parts of Britain, families wait up to four years for an appointment with a dentist" (1 photo)
Dentists in Britain can already be safely classified as a rare and endangered species. The profession is "in a state of crisis," the press states. Britons have to wait up to 1,400 days for dental care!
"According to health services, adults in Cornwall and Devon have to wait about 1,400 days to see a dentist. The average waiting time for children is three years and eight months," the tabloid DayliMail writes.
Dental Groups Association chairman Nick Carmichael called the situation unacceptable:
"These shocking figures sadly echo what we are seeing across the country. British dentistry is in crisis."
According to statistics, 97% of people who tried to get dental care without an appointment with a dentist never got it.
Earlier reports showed more than 100 people queuing from 2.30am in Warrington to see a dentist.
The British Dental Association said dentists in Britain had "effectively ceased to exist" for new patients because it was impossible to get an appointment.
