Thought they wouldn’t find him: police arrested a serial thief who was hiding under a bed
The police came to detain a suspect in eight thefts, and he hid under the bed, thinking that he would not be found. However, the police quickly figured out the criminal's intentions.
In the county of South Gloucestershire, in the UK, the local police encountered a comical incident. When the police were looking for a 43-year-old burglar in one of the houses, during the search they found the suspect under the bed, writes The Daily Mail.
Journalists write that this incident occurred on October 1, when the police were on the trail of the suspect as part of a week-long raid. The man is suspected of stealing power tools, bicycles and garden equipment, which he may have committed in February-March of this year.
When the police entered the room, as can be seen on the video, they did not find any traces of his presence. When the officer bent down and looked under the bed, he saw the suspect there and asked: "What happened?".
After that, the suspect crawled out from under the bed and began to pretend that he did not know why he was arrested.
"I know, but I'm not going to lie... Am I wanted?" the man asked again. To which he received an answer from another policewoman that he was suspected of committing eight thefts.
"Eight?" her colleague asked ironically, as can be seen in the footage from the policeman's body camera.
The media adds that law enforcement officers came across the man after a week-long raid, thanks to which the police simultaneously solved several other crimes. It is known that the suspect was released on bail pending the investigation.
