A pilot of "Turkish Airlines" died at the controls of an airplane (2 photos)
It is noteworthy that the pilot had undergone a routine medical examination, which did not reveal any health problems. Another reminder that a person is not just mortal, but suddenly mortal.
A pilot of a Turkish Airlines passenger plane died during a long flight at an altitude of about 12 thousand meters.
The incident occurred on the Seattle-Istanbul flight. 59-year-old Airbus A350 captain Ilcehin Pehlivan suddenly became ill when the plane was over Greenland at an altitude of 11,900 meters. The second pilot decided to turn the plane around and landed in New York. All this time, the crew members tried to revive Ilchehin Pehlivan, but to no avail. After landing in New York, doctors boarded the plane, but they could only confirm the captain's death.
It is noted that in March, Pehlivan underwent a mandatory medical examination, which did not reveal any health problems that would prevent him from performing his duties as a pilot. The man had been working for Turkish Airlines since 2007. The cause of the pilot's death has not been disclosed.
