In the USA, an otter tried to drown a child (4 photos + 1 video)
An otter dragged a child underwater at a marina in Bremerton, Washington. The incident occurred on the morning of September 12. The mother saved her son and ran away with the children, but the predator followed them.
The footage shows a woman with small children running along a marina while they are being chased by a bloodthirsty animal.
"The otter grabbed the child and dragged him underwater," the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) reported.
The moment of the attack itself was not captured on video, only the family's escape.
The child was taken to the hospital. His head and limbs were scratched and bitten.
Otters are usually not aggressive towards people, but they can attack to protect their offspring or territory. The animal was later killed and tested for rabies.
WDFW Sergeant Ken Balazs said, "The victim only suffered minor injuries thanks to the quick action of the mother. We would like to thank the Bremerton Marina for their cooperation."
There have been six reported river otter attacks in Washington in the past decade.
