Couriers in China not only deliver food and mail, but also perform many other tasks. Some of them are quite unusual.

A courier from Henan Province in northern China, who works on delivering orders, amused the Internet with a story about one of the most unusual requests received from customers. On Douyin, a courier shared a story about how a woman named Wang Mengmeng hired him for 300 yuan ($40) to climb Mount Laojun and cut off a metal "love lock" that she and her ex-boyfriend had installed there during their relationship, the South China Morning Post reports.

"I went to Mount Laojun with my ex-boyfriend and put up a love lock, and then I found out that he had done the same thing to many girls. Now that I think about it, I feel disgusted. Can you help me cut off the lock?" the courier recounted the girl's words.

He agreed to help her and drove four hours to get to the mountain. He then had to take a cable car to the top. Once he got there, the man faced another challenge: finding the right lock among thousands of others. He contacted the customer via video link, and the girl helped him identify her pink lock with the couple's names engraved on it.

Having found what he needed, the courier broke the lock and threw it into the stream, but the girl asked him to destroy it without a trace. He had to get it out of the water and take it to a specialized workshop, where he melted the zinc product. After that, it was announced that the connection between the couple was completely broken.

When the Chinese man cut off Wen's lock, onlookers watched him with interest, and one of the tourists asked to do the same with her lock, since her lover had deceived and betrayed her.

The man often documents unusual orders. Among other requests were the most diverse: from wedding invitations to sending red envelopes or flowers on Mother's Day.

The author of this story is not the only one who earns extra money by delivering food or postal parcels. Many delivery drivers in China offer a variety of personal services, such as queuing for tea, delivering documents, accompanying clients to the hospital, and even pet sitting.

The cost of services depends on the distance and time required for delivery.
