Did you know that our heart is a single muscle twisted twice around itself
It begins as a tube. Cells multiply inside this tube, which then begins to twist and bend, forming an S-shaped loop. Eventually, the heart as we know it is formed.
It is this spiral shape that makes the heart an effective pump. When it contracts, it does not simply squeeze blood, but twists along its longitudinal axis, like wringing out a washcloth.
Now live with it!
