A man trimmed a bush in the shape of a naked woman: now they lead tours to his house (4 photos + 1 video)

Keith Thiessen said he got the idea for the sculpture while he was still a student, learning to draw from life before becoming an art teacher.





Retired art teacher Keith Thiessen, 90, has been trimming a hedge near his home for 20 years in the shape of a naked woman he calls Gloria. The divorced father of four from Sheffield, UK, says with some pride that his monumental sculpture has become a local landmark, with tours even available.

Keith says people often stop and take pictures of the 5-foot-tall figure as they pass his house.



"I'm 90 now, but I'm still feeling pretty good, so I'll keep trimming hedges. People smile when they see Gloria. It's really inspiring to get compliments because it's not an easy shape to make," he said.

Thiessen explained that the idea for the sculpture came to him as a student, learning to draw from life before becoming an art teacher himself.





According to the Briton, there were several cases when drunk people pestered Gloria and took indecent photos. This really irritated him, because the sculpture could be damaged as a result of the barbaric actions of vandals and hooligans.



"I believe that we as a society benefit from public art - beautiful, thoughtful and tender. Personally, I enjoy being creative," the retiree added.
