In the USA, two passenger planes almost collided due to a dispatcher error
Only thanks to the reaction of one of the pilots was it possible to avoid tragedy.
In the United States, there was a dangerous collision between two passenger planes, which could have resulted in a huge number of casualties. The incident occurred on July 8 over the airport in Syracuse, New York. The controller mistakenly gave permission for the plane to take off on the runway on which another airliner was supposed to land. As a result, a collision of two sides almost occurred - only the pilot of the landing plane noticed that something was wrong. He quickly reacted to the situation, performed a maneuver and took the plane out of the path of the taking off airliner. The planes passed from each other at a distance of 220 meters, which by aviation standards is considered an extremely dangerous approach.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has already organized an investigation to determine all the causes and circumstances of the incident, which almost led to a plane crash. The FAA also plans to revise instructions for controllers to avoid similar incidents in the future.
Delta and American Airlines expressed their gratitude to the pilot, whose professional actions helped avoid the crash. Both planes eventually reached their destination without any problems.
