Tony Duncan did not lose hope and wanted to see his pet, Luna, again. A man was shocked after receiving a call from animal control.
Lost dog Tony Duncan from Maryland (USA) was found two years after he somehow ended up 1,000 miles (1,609 km) from home.
A man said his dog, Luna, disappeared from his Mardela Springs home after chasing wild animals in the nearby woods and never returning.
Duncan said he hadn't given up hope of seeing Luna again, but was still shocked after receiving a call from LaBelle Animal Control in Florida last week.
Animal control officers told the man that a dog had been found in the LaBelle Walmart parking lot and had a microchip that helped identify the missing Luna.
That same day, the American got into his car and drove 1,000 miles (1,609 km) to be reunited with his pet.
"It was a long distance, but it didn't compare to the love I have for my dog," Duncan told McClatchy News.
The emotional reunion was caught on camera.
