In the popular tourist town of Lopburi (Thailand), monkeys staged a mass escape from the municipal animal shelter, where more than 300 primates were kept from the Manora market, and almost captured the local police station.
About 30 monkeys somehow managed to free themselves from their enclosures and ended up on the street of the resort, and then tried to capture the police station located nearby. Law enforcement officials had to tightly close all windows and doors to prevent primates from entering the building.
After examining the enclosure, it turned out that the animals made a gap about 20 centimeters wide in the fence and escaped through it. According to experts, one of the leaders of the pack led the escape.
Authorities advised residents in nearby areas to close their homes to prevent the monkeys from hiding there until they were caught. Until this time, residents were advised to remain cautious.
By the way, many local residents feed the primates, but because of this, the latter have become so insolent that they openly attack people, take their food, damage their property and bite them. In the spring, authorities began rounding up macaques and catching particularly aggressive flocks en masse.
