The 1958 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL roadster was put up for sale in Moscow for $250 thousand (27 photos)
An advertisement for the sale of a rare Mercedes-Benz 190 SL, produced back in 1958, has appeared on a website selling used and new cars. The retro car was valued at $250 thousand not only because of its rarity, but also because of its museum condition: the roadster was recently completely restored. 
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL, which entered the market in the mid-1950s, was essentially a more affordable modification of the famous 300 SL. The roadster shared some of the design nuances of the chassis and power unit with the gullwing, although it was equipped only with a four-cylinder engine.
The 190 SL is not considered a collector's item, since Mercedes-Benz produced more than 25 thousand of these cars. However, examples in good condition and with factory equipment are in steady demand among fans of historical Mercedes-Benz models.
The car for sale is equipped with a 1.9-liter engine standard for the 190 SL with an output of 105 hp. It works with a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The seller claims that the roadster was restored by the reputable German company AMM Motor Classic, and since its complete restoration, the retro car has traveled only 700 kilometers. Roadster is located in Moscow.
