Panda attack on caretaker caught on video
In the Chinese city of Chongqing, two pandas attacked a zookeeper. The girl was injured. The incident was captured on video taken by visitors.
The attack occurred when a young zoo employee released two bamboo bears into the enclosure. Two pandas came out of the interior, immediately ran up to the caretaker and began to show aggression.
One of the bears grabbed the girl by the ankle, causing her to kneel. After this, the second panda tried to bite the caretaker on the head and knocked her down. Both animals attacked the girl and began to bite.
The keeper eventually managed to free herself and get to her feet when the older panda became distracted by another keeper who entered the enclosure. The older beast lost interest in people and climbed onto the crossbar between the trees. The young animal continued to attack the keepers and they were forced to retreat indoors.
As a result of the incident, the girl received a minor shoulder injury. The zoo administration could not name the reason for the attack and said that such incidents happen very rarely.
