Six months ago, Tesla updated the regular version of the Model 3 electric car, and now it’s the turn of the charged Performance modification. The company positions this car as an ideal car for everyday driving. 
New bumpers with a front splitter, a rear spoiler and a developed diffuser have a positive effect on aerodynamics. If drag decreased by 5%, downforce increased immediately by 36%. The suspension is equipped with stiff and lightweight springs made of high-strength steel, and the adaptive shock absorbers have three operating modes to choose from: standard, sport and track.
While maintaining the same energy consumption levels, the redesigned dual-motor powertrain now delivers 22% more performance with 32% more peak power and 16% more peak torque. In absolute numbers this is 510 hp. With. at 546 Nm, which provides acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 262 km/h with a range of 475 km on a single charge according to the EPA cycle.
Along the way, Tesla changed the settings of the auxiliary electronics, delegating more torque to the rear pair of wheels to give drivers more freedom in controlling the car. The wheels are 20 inches in diameter and are shod with Pirelli P Zero 4 sports tires.
In the cabin you can see carbon fiber decor, new sports seats with improved lateral support, a 15.4-inch driver's tablet and an 8-inch screen for those sitting in the back, as well as a music system with 17 speakers. Improved sound insulation, including through side acoustic windows, will make the trip quieter.
Prices have been announced: in the US, the Tesla Model 3 Performance starts at $52,990, but does not include delivery costs (plus $1,390) and federal subsidies (minus $7,500 from the manufacturer's price). Shipments to dealers should start in May-June.
