The Alachua County Sheriff's Office received a call about an emaciated 15-year-old horse named Dakota drowning in the northwest part of the county.
Fire crews arrived at the pond and entered the water to help stabilize the horse and keep its head above the water.
The rest of the team created a harness using a 6-inch wide belt and were able to pull the horse to safety using machinery.
After some time has passed, Dakota can be seen lying on her side, kicking her legs, gaining strength and standing up before being reunited with her owner.
