Many women dream of beauty. But, as is often said, be careful what you wish for.

This girl was beautiful - sweet face, luxurious hair, petite feminine figure. But Frances, despite her charming, touching appearance, was not like the others.

Frances was born September 8, 1914 in Renville County, Minnesota. The girl was born without arms, but learned to use her legs incredibly deftly. Despite her physical condition, or perhaps because of it, Frances had a very outgoing personality.

Combined with natural beauty and the stunning spectacle of her dexterous, trained and sexy legs, which she masterfully used when performing ordinary everyday work, the girl became a bright participant in the show - the so-called freak circuses.

O'Connor's career began in Wyoming at the Al G. Barnes Circus, where her mother worked as a manager. She ended up working for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey for over 20 years, until the mid-1940s. The artist was given the nickname “Living Venus de Milo” (by analogy with the famous ancient Greek sculpture).

Although Frances was not the first circus performer to use such a pseudonym, she perhaps lived up to it more than anyone else. By all accounts, Frances was a very beautiful woman who attracted crowds of men to her shows. Some of them seriously set their sights on being grooms and tried to court the charming Venus.

At the same time, the circus performer was not only beautiful, but also had charm and charisma that forced many men to bend their knees. She is said to have turned down hundreds of marriage proposals throughout her career.

Frances and her incredibly dexterous legs and feet were featured in the 1932 film Freaks. In the film, she smokes a cigarette, drinks from a cup, eats with a fork and knife, dabs the corners of her mouth with a napkin - all with the grace of a ballerina. Frances was so good with her feet that she took up knitting and sewing as a hobby. And I coped with them no worse, if not better, than women with two normal hands.

Eventually, as Frances grew older, she lost interest in performing and the audience lost interest in her. Shortly after the death of her mother, who was her manager, O'Connor decided to end her career and leave show business. Overnight, Frances completely disappeared from the radar.

Despite the fact that she had many suitors, the woman never married. She lived the rest of her life alone in her home in California and died in 1982 at the age of 67.
