The Nothing Compares 2 U singer has died at the age of 56.
During her solo career, Sinead O'Connor released 10 albums, but the most recognizable song was the hit Nothing Compares 2 U, which in 1990 was named the number one single in the world by Billboard Music Awards.
Sinead O'Connor had a beautiful voice. Unusual manner performance, bright appearance and, of course, the voice instantly drew viewers' attention to the new artist. All roads were open to her, however life was not rosy.
Throughout his career, information about nervous breakdowns of the singer - she herself admitted that she suffers from bipolar disorder. Several times she announced her retirement from the musical business and always came back. The artist tried to seek solace in religion, and, disillusioned with Christianity, in 2018 Sinead wrote letter to Pope Francis asking him to excommunicate her, and in 2018 accepted Islam, changing his name to Shuhada Dawitt.
Last December, her son Neviim Nesta Ali Shane O'Connor committed suicide, and the singer bitterly experienced the loss, blaming this tragedy itself. Due to gynecological problems, the singer suffered surgery to remove the uterus and took hormones. She was later diagnosed cancer.

The singer died at the age of 57.
