In movies, we are often shown ad nauseam ideal families where total understanding and harmony reign. Agree, this doesn’t happen in life. But the heroes of this collection will not be vanilla-sugar mommies and daddies. We present to you the TOP 10 worst parents from movies that you wouldn’t wish on your enemy. Everyone has already seen these films, but just in case, we warn you that there will be spoilers.

Kate and Peter McCallister

From Home Alone. We lost our son, finding ourselves with him in different cities, twice in three years.

Margaret White

From the film Carrie (1976). She clearly went too far with religious overprotection. And then she decided that only a knife would correct such an unrighteous daughter.

Jack Torrance

From The Shining (1980). He wanted to kill his son (and his wife) with an axe.

Darth Vader

From Star Wars. He cut off his son’s hand and only then confessed his paternity to him. You remember Luke Skywalker's reaction.

Suzanne and Bill

From the film “Divorce in the City” (2012). After a divorce, a rock star and a businessman each try to keep their common daughter for themselves, not out of love for her, but to annoy each other. As a result, neither one nor the other gets the girl.

Ego

From the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Part 2" (2017). He sired many children to find the ideal heir, but in the end he was disappointed in all of them and killed them. One of his children was the main character of the film, Quill, and he would have been perfect for the role of heir, but he learned that Ego killed his mother.

It's ironic that the role of Ego was played by Kurt Russell, who is considered one of the most exemplary fathers in Hollywood.

Mr and Mrs Wormwood

From the film "Matilda" (1996). They were so uninterested in their daughter and generally terrible that the ending of the film, where a 7-year-old girl goes to live with a school teacher (who adopts her), is presented as a happy ending.

Grace Stewart

From the film "The Others" (2001). She killed her children and even in the next world sickened them with overprotection.

Corinne Dollanganger-Foxworth and Olivia Foxworth

From the film “Flowers in the Attic” (1987). A sudden and sinister union between mother and grandmother. The latter, by the way, was played by Louise Fletcher, known for her role as Sister Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. And this adds darkness to the film.

Mother of four Corinne remains in a difficult financial situation after the death of her husband. She is forced to return to her rich but very bad-tempered parents. Her sick father had long threatened her that he would deprive her of her inheritance if she had children from a marriage he did not like. And there are four of them! As a result, Corinne, in agreement with her mother Olivia, sends the children to live in the attic, supposedly for the first time. In fact, mother and grandmother decide to start poisoning the children little by little, so that the stern father does not find out about their existence at all, leaves Corinne an inheritance, and she could remarry (to a more worthy person), freed from children.
