Joy of the day: the third gorilla in 115 years was born in Texas (10 photos + 1 video)
Now gorillas are endangered, so the birth of each individual is a great joy. Recently, a premature gorilla was born at the Fort Worth Zoo in the United States. The mother went into labor five weeks early, and doctors had to act urgently. 
There was joy at the Fort Worth Zoo, USA: a baby gorilla was born. The female, Sekani, went into labor five weeks early - and caretakers called in a team of gynecologists to assist with the emergency delivery. The female had to undergo an emergency caesarean section, which saved the lives of both mother and baby. Fortunately, everything went well. The long-awaited newborn was named Jamila. 
After birth, the little gorilla was resuscitated, given breathing support and had x-rays taken. Now she is cared for around the clock in the best conditions. Unfortunately, the mother did not accept the baby: Sekani refused to look after her and get close to her. Keepers hope another female gorilla, Gracie, can become a surrogate mother for her. 
Newborn Jamila has already broken a couple of records. This is the third gorilla birth in the zoo's 115-year history, and the first by caesarean section. One of the doctors who participated in the operation usually only operates on people:
"Attending Sekani's birth was one of the highlights of my career as an OB/GYN. I am honored to help this endangered species and share my experience with the veterinary staff at the Fort Worth Zoo. I was amazed at how similar Sekani's anatomy was to human," said physician Jamie Walker Ervin. 
The birth of Jamila is a joy for the whole world. Now gorillas are endangered, so each birth gives a little hope for saving the entire species. In recent years, the number of gorillas has declined due to deforestation, poaching, and mining, which leads to the destruction of habitats.
