Photogenic in the animal world: a magnificent gorilla poses for a photographer at the zoo (5 photos)
Animals in the zoo are like celebrities and are constantly under the camera's guns. A male gorilla named Pendeka from the Detroit Zoo, USA, decided to pose impressively, sticking out his tongue, thereby amusing the photographer and visitors.
According to Detroit Zoo staff, Pende usually plays with his two brothers or other monkeys, so the gesture was a surprise to everyone.
Gorillas are considered to be the closest relatives of humans after chimpanzees, which has been confirmed by DNA studies. They are able to express emotions similar to humans.

“Our gorillas are in constant contact with humans. Strong emotional bonds, trust and even friendship often arise between gorillas and their keepers,” says a park employee in Congo.

The photographer managed to capture the heartbreaking moment when the mother monkey cried bitterly, hugging the lifeless body of her child. Fortunately, the baby simply lost consciousness and soon woke up.
