One of the few animals rescued from the Gaza Strip Zoo in Palestine was a 9-year-old tiger named Laziza. For 2 years of its life, the predator lived in a tiny cage, constantly feeling hungry. When mass deaths of animals from starvation began in the zoo, Laziz managed to be rescued and transported to a special South African reserve.
The tiger's condition left much to be desired; veterinarians diagnosed him with a number of diseases.
But Laziza turned out to be resilient and quickly recovered.
He recovered, gained weight and regained his former mobility.
Now the predator lives among 17 other tigers and never lacks food.
