In Mexico, a bride was arrested on her own wedding day during a police raid.
Nancy Lisette was going to marry the killer Clement Mendiola Martinez, nicknamed El Raton (The Little Mouse). He is suspected of extortion and murder, and the bride, according to investigators, was his accomplice and together with him blackmailed local farmers.
The bride was handcuffed while she was in her wedding dress. Police photographs show her wearing a tiara and veil.
The police learned about the upcoming wedding and followed Lisette on the appointed day. During the ceremony, police raided the premises and detained her and several men in black who appeared to be guests at the wedding.
Martinez himself managed to escape. The police offered 300 thousand pesos (about 15 thousand dollars) to anyone who would share information about his whereabouts.
