A 4-year-old girl set a world record by climbing Everest with her father and 7-year-old brother (4 photos)

A baby named Zara became the youngest girl to reach a height of 5364 meters while climbing Everest. A new world record was set thanks to the father of the family, who took his 4-year-old daughter and her 7-year-old brother to the mountains.

In total, they covered 270 kilometers in the Himalayas, Expats reports.

Zara has citizenship of the Czech Republic and Canada, but her family permanently resides in Malaysia.

As the father of the family told reporters, the children, who grew up in the difficult conditions of rural Malaysia, demonstrated “exceptional physical fitness.”

The family's unique approach to parenting is to emulate the traditional lifestyle of the local tribes. Children are not afraid of temperatures in the mountains as low as -25 degrees Celsius, as they are accustomed to cold weather by taking ice baths at home and making long journeys over rough terrain.

From an early age, Zara covered distances of 5-10 kilometers every day. In 2023 alone, she walked a total of more than 2,200 kilometers through the Malaysian jungle.

To reach Everest Base Camp, the little girl, along with her father, seven-year-old brother Sasha and a Nepalese porter, had to walk about 270 kilometers, facing many obstacles, including low temperatures that dropped to -20-25 degrees Celsius.

We stayed in hostels with very difficult conditions. The rooms were cold. Lowest temperature was -11°C

, Zara's father, David Shifra, wrote online. He added:

We did not take acclimatization lightly. We constantly monitored blood oxygen saturation and tried to acclimatize as slowly as possible.

Zara’s brother wrote on a banned social network that it was much harder in the jungle than in the mountains:

In the Himalayas, the trails are much better than the rugged jungle terrain.

Zara Sifra is the smallest girl, but not the youngest child on Everest. Hazel Matulis from New Zealand was 2 years old when he reached Everest Base Camp with his parents and three older siblings (ages 6-11). However, Zara arrived there in winter.

How did your parents raise you?)
