Why do most dogs dislike drunk people? There are at least three versions that explain the hostility of animals towards people who have consumed alcohol.





Unfortunately, scientists have not yet conducted full-fledged studies of why dogs do not like the green snake. But there are at least three theories that explain the animals’ persistent aversion to alcohol.

Firstly, the smell. Moreover, both the alcohol itself and the secretions of our body under the influence of intoxicating alcohol.



Do not forget that ethyl alcohol, contained in all alcoholic drinks, is a powerful toxin. And our body is not a fool at all: it tries to process and get rid of the unfortunate toxin as quickly as possible by all available means. Including through pores, sweat and other secretions. Well, we all know that the instinct of woollens works much more powerfully than ours. So if a person simply doesn’t like the smell of fumes, then for our pets it’s a real stink bomb!





Secondly, lack of coordination of movements. Body language is very important for animals, because with its help they communicate not only with each other, but also read a lot of information from us. You yourself may not notice how your legs are tangled or your hands are shaking, but the animals can see everything right away. Dogs do not understand what to expect from us and how to act. Animals interpret unusual, non-standard, “wrong” behavior in their own way: some get scared, while others immediately attack.



Third, animals may be disgusted by drunk people due to previous negative experiences. There is no need to explain for a long time: it is enough for some person to scare or hit the animal for it to forever associate the smell of alcohol with a negative impact. Homeless animals react especially strongly to drunk people. For obvious reasons: such dogs have much more unpleasant experiences with drunk people than pets.



All these versions can work very well both together and separately. In any case, drinking alcohol seriously harms your health! You shouldn’t test your body and the patience of animals - stop drinking alcohol, and you will be happy! Well, if the holidays have taken their toll, don’t go for a walk with your pet when you’re tipsy and don’t try to communicate with street dogs. This will be safer for you and calmer for the animals.
