Hydraulic ventilation during fire fighting

2 January 2024
Hydraulic ventilation is a method of removing smoke and other combustion products from a burning building or structure using water. It is used during firefighting to improve the visibility and safety of firefighters, as well as to create conditions for more effective extinguishing.

Hydraulic ventilation is carried out using special devices called hydraulic fans. These fans are installed on fire trucks and connected to high pressure hoses. High-pressure water is fed to fans, which spray it into mist. Water mist creates a flow of air that displaces smoke and other combustion products from a burning building or structure.
