In the early morning of February 24, 2022, Russia launched missile attacks on Ukrainian territory and launched a direct, full-scale invasion. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repel the enemy
- Russian forces are using tear gas and other unidentified chemical weapons to dislodge Ukrainian forces from their positions in the Bakhmut direction, - ISW, situation at the front.

Russian troops recently recaptured positions that the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured during a counteroffensive in the summer, likely after Ukrainian troops withdrew for the winter to more secure positions near Rabotino - ISW, situation at the front.
▪️On December 27, positional battles took place to the northeast and southeast of Kupyansk in the area of Sinkovka, Petropavlovka and Ivanovka, as well as to the west and southwest of Kremennaya in the area of Dibrova and Serebryansky forestry.
▪️Also, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently advanced west of Gorlovka and continued positional battles with Russian troops.
▪️Ukrainian forces continue to hold positions near Krynoki. 
- 33 Russian sailors are listed as missing, 23 injured and 1 killed as a result of a strike by Ukrainian forces on the Russian Ropucha-class landing ship Novocherkassk in the Crimean port of Feodosia.

Fifty-five-year-old Pavel Shuvalov, better known as the Tulun maniac, who entered into a contract with one of the private military companies (PMCs), died in the war. Several sources in law enforcement agencies reported this to Lenta.ru on Thursday, December 28.
According to sources, Shuvalov signed a contract with the PMC in April of this year. After training, the man was sent to the line of combat contact near Lugansk, where he died on May 29. His death was confirmed by three fellow soldiers, who also noted that Shuvalov’s body could not be recovered.
According to the investigation, from 1991 to 2019, Shuvalov raped at least 27 women, killing two of them. However, due to the Tulun flood that occurred in 2019, in which some of the archival materials were damaged, in court it was possible to prove Shuvalov’s involvement in only two rapes and the same number of murders.

According to information from the Armed Forces of the South, a cargo ship loaded with grain and heading to one of the ports along the Danube suffered a disaster. As a result of the explosion, the ship lost control and a fire started on its upper deck. The captain was forced to urgently refloat the ship to prevent it from sinking.
Two crew members were injured as a result of the incident, one of whom was taken to the hospital. The bulk carrier was towed to the port for necessary repairs.
