The spouses' carelessness caused the terrible death of their daughter (8 photos)
When the doctors saw the unfortunate Lacey, they were horrified. The young woman, bursting with health, turned into a pile of decaying flesh. At the suggestion of the people who gave her life and were supposed to protect and care for her.
The New York Post reported that a Louisiana couple whose daughter's body was found "fused" into a sofa where she had lain for about 12 years were re-indicted on murder charges after a judge dropped the charges against them on a technicality.
Lacy Fletcher
Sheila and Clay Fletcher were arrested in January 2022 after their 36-year-old daughter Lacey Ellen Fletcher was found dead on a sofa covered in her own feces. At the time of death, the woman weighed less than 43 kg.
The pair were later charged with second-degree murder in a shocking case of "acute medical malpractice," but a judge threw out the charges due to controversial language.
The Fletchers, free on bail, were rearrested on June 19 and again indicted by a grand jury on murder charges.
Sheila and Clay Fletcher
After calling 911 asking for help for a woman who had stopped breathing on January 3, 2022, doctors discovered a terrible picture: Lacey, a disabled person with a rare neurological problem, was unable to control any of her muscles except her eyeballs.
The poor thing lived in this nightmare
The parents who were her guardians took such “excellent” care of their daughter that the immobilized poor thing lived rooted in the sofa, which was a fetid pit filled with urine and feces. The woman was underweight and had bedsores, although her father and mother claimed that they took care of her, changed her clothes, washed her, bandaged her, and fed her. And the paralyzed Lacy categorically refused to visit the doctor herself.
The coroner, who had seen everyone during his work, could not come to his senses for a week after examining the body. Dr. Bickham does not believe in the sincerity of the assurances of the parents of the deceased and commented on the tragedy as follows:
This is the worst form of medical malpractice I have ever seen. I don't know of any other adjectives or adverbs to add to this.
Neighbors describe Sheila and Clay as pious, open and empathetic people who truly cared for their ailing daughter, who also suffered from autism. But under the guise of virtue it turned out to be something completely different... The Fletchers face 5 years to life in prison.
