During World War II, Lee served as an intelligence officer in the Royal Air Force. He saw action in the North African Campaign and the Battle of Monte Cassino. In the final months of his service, he was attached to the Central Registry of War Criminals and Security Suspects (CROWCASS)—an Allied organization tasked with tracking down fleeing SS officers.

On August 9, 1969, members of the Manson Family raided the Cielo Drive home. Sharon Tate, eight months pregnant, was brutally murdered alongside four visitors. Polanski was away in Europe filming at the time. According to testimony from Manson follower Susan Atkins, Manson targeted the address to instill terror in Melcher for reneging on music deals—unaware or unconcerned that Melcher had long since moved out.
Manson was convicted in 1971 and sentenced to death, which was later commuted to life imprisonment. He died at Corcoran State Prison on November 19, 2017, from cardiac arrest stemming from colon cancer.
Barbra Streisand spent tens of thousands to clone her beloved dog
In February 2018, Barbra Streisand revealed to Variety that two of her Coton de Tulear dogs, Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett, were actually genetic clones of her beloved dog Samantha, who died in 2017 at age 14. Tissue samples were taken from Samantha’s mouth and stomach before her death.
