In Australia, police are looking for a 30-year-old thief with a sweet tooth who stole a van containing 10,000 donuts from a diner and fled in an unknown direction.
A Krispy Kreme van was heading to Newcastle, New South Wales, on the night of November 29. The car stopped at a service station in Carlingford at around 3.30am. The forwarders got out of the car, and it was soon stolen.
Witnesses described the woman as an Aboriginal woman in her 30s with long black or brown hair. The donut thief was wearing dark clothes and holding a white purse.
A Krispy Kreme representative said company employees are working with police to search for the stolen person. He also said Newcastle restaurant customers need not fear a shortage of donuts as the stolen batch was quickly replaced with a new one. In addition, Krispy Kreme announced a 50 percent discount on all products for police officers and other special services.
