The last flight from Kaitak took off on July 6, 1998. The runway was surrounded by water on three sides, with residential buildings in the Kowloon City area to the northwest, and mountains over 610 meters high to the northeast. As a result, the landing was very difficult for the pilots, it was even included in the list of the 6 most dangerous in the world.
